Last-Minute Opportunity: RMNASTT Beck Street Project Site Tour – Tomorrow (6/26) at Noon
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (RMNASTT) is excited to invite you to an informal project site tour tomorrow, Friday, June 26, showcasing the rehabilitation of the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities' Beck Street Trunk Line.
Date: Friday, June 26
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM (Feel free to arrive at any time during the visit.)
Project Site: 1200 Beck Street, Salt Lake City, UT
This is a rare opportunity to see the project's final over-the-hole CIPP lining installation of the 64-inch brick composite trunk sewer, extending from Beck Street into the Marathon Oil refinery.
During the visit, the project superintendent will provide an overview of:
- The project and rehabilitation approach
- Why the CIPP trenchless method was selected
- Challenges encountered during the rehabilitation
- Bypass pumping operations
- The final liner installation and overall construction process
Parking: Parking will be available at the AmeriGas location on the east side of Beck Street, directly across from the liner installation setup.
This is an active construction site, so please wear appropriate PPE if you have it (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and work boots are recommended).
We realize this invitation comes at the last minute, but opportunities to observe a live trenchless installation at this stage of construction are uncommon. If your Friday schedule is flexible, we encourage you to stop by, even if you can only attend for part of the tour.
Thank you to the project team, including Consor, Azuria, and the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities, for making this opportunity available to RMNASTT members.
We hope to see you on site!
